Choose Etsy if
you want the lowest price for a single design, the event does not need a custom look, and you are comfortable editing the file in whatever format the seller provides.
Choose BoothLab if
the client expects something made for them, you want the prints, screen and buttons to match without assembling them yourself, or you would rather not edit template files.

A stock design and a made design are different products
An Etsy template is a finished design that many operators buy. That is its strength: it is cheap and you can see exactly what you are getting. The trade-off is that another booth in your town may be running the same one, and fitting it to your event is your job.
A BoothLab kit starts from the event. The names are lettered into the artwork and the motifs and colours come from the brief.
What to check on an Etsy listing
Listings vary a lot, so read each one. Check which software the file needs, whether transparent PNG export is included or needs a paid Canva plan, which print sizes are covered, and what the seller’s licence allows you to do for paying clients.
